Wear comfortable clothing ready for running. The closer the fit, the better the assessment. Lycra style shorts, skins, tights and singlets are the best. Tie back long hair. Bring all footwear you would like to be assessed. A change room and shower is available.

You will have your weight taken and height measured. We will ask about your running, sporting, injury history and your goals. We will complete a physical screening (if this has not already been performed). Once we have all your information, you will warm up on the treadmill and complete a series of runs at various speeds and in various shoes if required. You will normally run for 5 minutes or more and usually complete multiple runs.

Yes. We are able to review previous assessments and laminate them over the current assessment. This is particularly useful for those on a long rehabilitation program or gait re-training, who need to assess progress.

Yes. The biomechanical profile allows us to easily review many factors that influence the way we run. This means we are able to compare results using different shoes, recognise the best performing shoes and plan a strategy for better performance and injury management.

Please allow an hour for your first assessment. Review appointments are generally made for 30 or 40 minutes. Your practitioner will advise you how  long this should be depending upon the purpose of the review. Book Online.

The core of our program is injury prevention and rehabilitation. We will assist in recognising risk factors and develop strategies with you to help you run better. These strategies can include strength and flexibility, strapping and taping, training strategies for recovery, footwear advice and orthotic therapy.

The essence of better performance is improved running economy. Basically, being able to run at a set speed with as little energy expenditure. Our assessment will provide an insight into the biomechanical perimeters in an objective way, that will allow you to recognise what areas of your running could help improve running economy.

Yes, this will need to be pre-arranged with one of our 3D RunLab team.  The session can be for CPD for clinicians, educational for students or biomechanical/injury screening for teams.

Contact the 3D Run Lab reception and discuss your needs and we will work to accommodate them. Kyle Dalmau is able to complete some  screening sessions on Saturday by appointment.

Yes. With a 3D running profile of any athlete, we have objective data related to their movement and function. This can assist in many ways, from fitness coaches establishing training programs for performance, through to rehabilitation practitioners establishing objective ‘Return to play’ criteria.
